(i) The Business Case for Work-Life Strategy and Employee Needs Assessment

  1. Making the business case for work-life strategy;
  2. Introduction to the work-life options (including flexible work arrangements): benefits/ features and
  3. Employee needs assessment: in-depth training on the whole process of needs assessment including the various tools (design/ develop/ conduct surveys and focus interviews), how and what existing HR data/ records can be used; the marketing strategy in order to achieve maximum buy-in from employees; writing the reports and how to analyze the data collected

 

(ii) Implementing Work-Life Strategy

  1. Making the business case for work-life strategy;
  2. Work-life options (including flexible work arrangements): benefits/ features;
  3. Redesigning work to facilitate flexible work arrangements;
  4. Assessing the work-life needs of employees (using existing HR records/ data, surveys, focus groups, analyzing results, writing reports etc);
  5. Cost-benefit analysis;
  6. Matching business goals, employee needs and work-life strategies (linking work-life to organizational issues);
  7. Implementing work-life programmes including writing guides and preparing/ training the stakeholders;
  8. Marketing work-life initiatives and
  9. Evaluating effectiveness of such programmes

 

(iii) Evaluating Work-Life Strategy

  1. Measuring the success of on-going work-life programme
    1. Quantitative measurements (e.g. informal feedback, surveys)
    2. Qualitative measurements (e.g. return of investment studies)
  2. Linking measurement results to the business case
